Bursts of Color in My Garden with Chrysanthemums

Can't go wrong in your garden with the late season burst of color, offered by the many varieties of mums! Also, I love how hardy mums are in the varied weather of the season; and also admire their staying power with a long vase life!

Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in China.[1] There are about 40 valid species.[1] There are countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.

Spring 2013
I <3 My Daphne odora!

From January through March no other plant in my garden offers such magnificent delicate beauty and intoxicating fragrance! My Daphne magically transforms at the end of winter as its woody branches become covered with tightly clustered masses of small pink and white trumpet shaped flowers which emit an irresistible fragrance. This intoxicating moment lasts approximately 6 weeks. It is my favorite bloom for romantic Valentine and early spring bouquets!
